A highly experienced and acclaimed sustainability and project management expert, Stephanie Keay has joined the Goodwood Estate team as Head of Sustainability.

Having worked in the construction industry for more than a decade, helping to deliver large, complex projects including Crossrail, High Speed 2, and schemes for Transport for London, she is adept at working simultaneously across a multitude of fields, from commercial and design management to administering intricate environmental and sustainability measures.

A leading member of the Technical Leadership Group, she provides valuable insight and direction to a range of businesses on sustainability issues while collaborating closely with local authority clients and stakeholders to best understand how to support and solve challenging needs around the issue. Stephanie currently specialises in leading Net Zero, Social Value and ESG programmes.

Stephanie will call on her impressive experience to carve out an even more sustainable path forward for the Goodwood Estate. She will focus on further embedding sustainability into the business through decarbonisation, climate resilience, biodiversity enhancement, and increasing social value, while ensuring viability, value, and accountability.

Famed for hosting the UKs most famous motorsport and horseracing festivals, as well as one of the only self-sustaining farms in Europe, West Sussexs iconic Goodwood Estate is brimming with history, culture and fun-filled activities, while also offering a full 360 weekend away experience. From foodies, spa-lovers, art buffs and fitness nuts, to those wanting to get up and go, the incredible restaurants, spa and wellness retreats, sporting activities, and unique historic days out tick every box. Famed for its organic produce and sustainable farming methods, Goodwood Estate has always prioritised the importance of environmentalism, and the healing power of nature.

A local to the area, Stephanie lives in West Sussex, and enjoys spending her time outdoors, whether riding her horse over the South Downs or walking her dog on the beach. Having enjoyed Goodwood as a customer and volunteer for many years, coming to many of the events, enjoying dinner at the Kennels and walking around the estate, she knows the property, its values, and its valued visitors, well.

Stephanie says: I am thrilled to now be part of the team to help make the Estate as sustainable as possible. Sustainability is not just a profession for me but also personal; I try and do my part in everyday life, from buying local, restoring instead of purchasing new and reusing where possible. I am delighted to be taking my experience to the Goodwood Estate.

We will be focussing on reducing our emissions, preparing further for climate change, managing our waste and resources efficiently, conserving water and enhancing biodiversity. For me, people engagement and awareness are key and upskilling others to do their job in the most sustainable way will be the most rewarding and critical part of my role.
