The Silent Art Auction at New Park Centre is now officially open, offering art lovers, collectors and supporters of the local community the opportunity to bid on more than 40 original artworks while helping secure the future of one of Chichester's most valued community spaces.

The exhibition, which runs throughout June, features an exceptional and diverse collection of original paintings, photography, collages, limited edition prints and sculptures generously donated by artists from across the region. Many of the artists are established and highly regarded within the local art community, creating a unique opportunity for visitors to acquire collectable and investment-worthy pieces while supporting a vital cause.

All proceeds from the auction will support New Park Centre's Raise the Roof campaign, which aims to raise £450,000 towards replacing the roof of the historic Victorian building.

New Park Centre has been overwhelmed by the generosity of the artistic community, with donations continuing to arrive right up to the exhibition opening. The response reflects the important role the Centre plays in supporting creativity, emerging artists and the wider community.

The Centre is home to an eclectic range of activities and groups, including history societies, martial arts classes, bereavement support groups, ballet, belly dancing, wellbeing activities, community events and creative workshops. Every week, thousands of people pass through its doors.

"Every artwork tells a story, but this exhibition tells an even bigger one," said Allison McDonald Hughes, Manager of New Park Centre. "The incredible generosity of artists has created an exhibition filled with beautiful and collectable works. By bidding, visitors are not only investing in artwork they can enjoy for years to come, they are also investing in the future of a building that supports so many people within our community. Simply put, our community needs a roof."

The exhibition is free to visit throughout June. Visitors can browse the collection and place bids by recording their name, the artwork they wish to purchase and their bid amount. Final bids close at 6pm on 30 June, with successful bidders contacted shortly afterwards.

Whether you are an experienced collector, first-time buyer or simply wish to support a much-loved community venue, the Silent Art Auction offers the opportunity to take home something special while helping preserve a vital community asset for future generations.
