Free Live Well Midhurst community health fair aims to help residents make positive changes
Residents of all ages in Midhurst are being invited to find out more about the different ways they can make healthy changes to their lives at the Live Well Midhurst health fair on Friday 20 February from 10am until 12pm at The Grange Community and Leisure Centre.
Chichester Wellbeing has organised the fair to give the community access to expert guidance and handson support, helping people move towards healthier, more active lifestyles.
Visitors will be able to meet and talk with Chichester Wellbeing and other health professionals on a range of health and wellbeing topics, such as weight management, health eating, stopping smoking, mental wellbeing and reducing alcohol intake. There will also be the chance to have free blood pressure checks and to find out more about the courses that Chichester Wellbeing offer.
Chichester Wellbeing will also be joined by Chichester District Councils Social Prescribers along with a range of community groups including the Midhurst Community Forum, the Alzheimers Society, Age UK, Rother Valley Together and Meals on Wheels.
There will also be some free, gentle exercise taster sessions, free healthy smoothies, a childrens play corner, with information for all ages about health and wellbeing, and staying independent into older age.
We are proud of the work that our Wellbeing team have done to bring this event to Midhurst, says Cllr Tracie Bangert, Cabinet Member for Communities and Wellbeing at Chichester District Council. This is a great opportunity for people of all ages in the district to come along and access free expert advice in a welcoming and social environment.
We know that for many people it can be tough trying to take those first steps in trying to make a positive lifestyle change. Thats why an event like this can be so helpful, there is no pressure, and our partners are there to support each person on an individual basis. This can be a great way to introduce a change, whether its exercising and being more active, or planning for a healthy future as we get older.
Whether people want to receive advice, check their blood pressure, or simply talk about wellbeing, we would love to see you there.
The event is free, open to all, and no booking is required. For more information, please contact the Chichester Wellbeing Team by emailing wellbeing@chichester.gov.uk or calling 01243 521041.
