Two of the UKs best Singer/Songwriters to Appear Locally
Organised by : Wemsfest
WemsFest add to their long list of top artists when Boo Hewerdine and Yvonne Lyon perform at the Old Malthouse, Chidham later in May.
Yvonnes talents are increasingly being recognised and has
shared the stage with such luminaries as Patti Griffin, Karine Polwart, Karen
Matheson, Luka Bloom and Steve Forbert. Boo released his first album in 1986 as
part of The Bible (Graceland, Honey be Good) and later worked with many top
performers including Richard Thompson, Clive Gregson, John McCusker, Chris
Difford and Eddi Reader - who recorded Boos Joke and Patience of Angels.
His songs have been recorded by k d Lang, Paul Young, Kris Drever and Marti
Pellow amongst many others.
This duos new album, Things Found in Books, is inspired by a
notice board in a second-hand bookshop, where they saw notes, photos, receipts
and postcards which had been left in the books. Boo and Yvonnes songwriting
and musicianship take these fragments of peoples lives to provide an album of
beauty, hope and nostalgia.
